Breakdown of Ziggeo charges on paid accounts

Here is the breakdown of Ziggeo charges on paid plans for different Ziggeo features and processes:

1.  Recording:

Recording charges are only issued for the accepted/final streams. If any re-recording happens at a later time, it will then be charged for again as a new stream, however, for all immediate re-recordings or re-recordings within the same session, no new charges will be made.

2. Uploading:

Uploading is charged only for accepted/final recordings, unless re-recording happens in a different session or at a later time, which then means a new charge is issued for the new upload.

3. Transcoding:

Transcoding is charged for at the initial recording only. If your customers re-record immediately, you are not charged for the re-recording, only for the initial recording.  However, if the re-recording happens at a later time (i.e. a few hours later or any further time in the future or in a different session), you will be charged for this transcoding, since it is considered as a new recording.

Re-transcoding videos from the dashboard, will add additional transcoding cost (only for the length of the original video).

4.  Streams:

The number of streams attached to a video does not matter, you will be charged for the original stream value only. If your customers upload a video that is 100MB in size, which is then turned into several 1000MB streams, you will only be charged for original 100MB, however, if your customers upload a 1000MB video that is then turned into several 100MB streams, you are charged for 1000MB, as that it’s the original stream value.

5. HD Video profiles:

You are charged for HD only if the video profile used is using HD resolution, which means that if the video profile does not use HD, or if no video profile is used, then you are not charged for HD, regardless of the original video resolution (even if the original video is in HD).

6. Meta and effect profiles:

Effect profiles, affect the charging costs, as each stream of effect profiles will add additional charges, and these charges will be applied for the original recording (not re-recordings).  Unless the re-recording is in a different session or at a later time, or the transcoding is applied within the dashboard, in which case the charges will be applied to these re-recordings.

Since filter effects are charged per stream, re-transcoding will re-create these streams which means charges will be made for re-transcoded filter streams.

Meta filters are charged additionally in a similar manner. Its charges depend on the plan and would be applied per minute per what you have set up in your embedding (while creating video).

7. Video Playback:

Video Playback is charged for every time the video is retrieved from Ziggeo servers. If the videos are retrieved from the customer’s local storage or within the cache, then no charges will be made for playback.

8. Storage:

Ziggeo charges for storage are made per minute of video for a month. The actual price, however, depends on the plan you are subscribed to.
