Using Expiration_days:
What does it do?
Expiration_days is a parameter that you can set in your Ziggeo embedding if you want your videos to be deleted automatically after a certain amount of time.
For example “expiration_days=1” means that the videos will be automatically deleted after 1 day (24 hours) of the time they’re uploaded.
Setting 0 will mean that your videos will only be deleted manually, while setting it with x number of days will mean that our system will delete the videos for you at the specified days interval.
V1 vs V2:
It’s good to note that there is a slight difference in using the expiration days parameter in V1 and V2 embedding:
V1:
expiration_days [int: number of days]
Example:
<ziggeo ziggeo-expiration_days=1></ziggeo>
V2:
expiration-days [int: number of days]
Example:
<ziggeorecorder ziggeo-expiration-days=1></ziggeorecorder>
You have set up expiration days, but the videos are still not deleted?
It’s good to note that when you set expiration_days, you need to have the “delete videos automatically” option set up in your application settings. In order to do that, please follow the steps below:
1. Click on the application that holds the videos you want to set the parameter for (for this example we’re using the default app, but you can do the same with any application you would like to change).
2. Click on Manage at the end of the application submenu.
3. Click on Authorization Settings.
4. Scroll down to find “Automatically delete expired videos” and check that option.
