Hi, I realise that this post was some time ago but creating gifs from segments of the videos would be an amazing feature for a large number of use cases.

Using the gifs in email would be amazing!!

    Hi Shaun,

It is never too late to join in and upvote a desirable feature :)

We do have it on our list of things to release in the near time. It is planned to follow the video editor which should come early 2021.

    Thanks Bane,

Any ideas or suggestions on how to achieve this during this time? It is something that is really important for me if I'm honest. I won't let it hold back my MVP but I think it will be a great feature.

Knowing that it's on the roadmap is great!

There is no way of creating a GIF like presentation within the email without the actual GIF file, however what you could do Shaun at this time is to use the image within the email.

Another thing you could do is to use the effect profiles to create the image that has a play button on top of it. That way it looks like the player, however once you click on it you would go to the website, where you could have the player on autoplay or just as is, so people can click to play it.

    Hi Bane,

Sorry I was asking if you knew of any 3rd Party API's that I could push the video link to that could create a 3 second gif... just to tide myself over.

I do need to have a better look at the affect profiles.

What I have been doing so far is grabbing the thumbnail by the API and then adding the layers my end. This way I am able to include dynamic data into the image like the number of seconds the video is.

    Thanks for your help

    Hi Shaun,

Unfortunately no. However I would recommend checking what is provided and how, to match your workflow requirements.

I do just want to mention that gif is not possible to easily edit to include the dynamic details unless it is created like that.

While not directly connected to the GIF itself, I am however interested in hearing about the dynamic data such as time. I am guessing that you are including the play button icon as well. Anything else?

    * I am asking so that I can talk with our team and see if we could include something like that as well once GIF is available :)
